A Warm Hello
The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.
Where and When
We will be pleased to see you, and there is no need to let us know in advance. Just turn up for 10 00 am on Sunday, and there will be people there to assist.
You will be given our weekly News Sheet, together with a Service Booklet and a Hymn Book. If you require a large print hymn book or the large print Communion Book please ask.
If you require a gluten-free wafer at Holy Communion or if you prefer to receive Communion in your seat just mention it to the Welcome Team member.
Toilet and Baby changing facilities are available at the back of church.
It is worth knowing that on the first Sunday of each month we have an All-Age Service, which lasts about 45 minutes and features puppets. Some families find this the easiest service for young children.
On the other Sundays we have St Chad's JCKids, which is what would have been called Sunday School. They meet in the Poulton Community Hall on Vicarage Road, at 9 45 am and in the case of young children, parents are encouraged to stay with them for the session, which finishes when they join us in church at the end of our service.
Plan your journey:

There is three hours free parking in the Teanlowe Car Park and it is just a short walk to St Chad's.
Poulton is well served by public transport and the St Chad's Church tower is a good reference point from anywhere in the town.
Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it.
Parish Communion -The service will follow the Common Worship booklet you were handed on arrival. The traditional worship accompanied with hymns lead by our Choir will include a talk that is based on the bible reading for that day. Communion will ordinarily be taken at the front of the church but for those who would like to receive it in their seat just have a word with one of the Welcome Team. Communion can be taken by any confirmed member of any church. Wine will be offered but if you prefer not to take it that is absolutely fine. If you are not confirmed but would welcome a Blessing then please also go forward and at the front just keep your arms by your side.
All Age Worship - This informal service is for all the family. A member of our clergy team will lead the service and there will be some prayers, and a short talk together with some songs. Sometimes our Mitten Ministry assist with the service.
St Chad's @ 4 - Family time held on the third Sunday monthly. Cakes and drinks are served from 4.00 pm followed at 4.30 pm by an informal and fun service for the family finishing at 5.15 pm.
Getting Connected
Groups
While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being involved in one or more of our groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.
Serving and Volunteering
If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make the various activities we are involved in run smoothly, please have a word with one of the Leaders or a member of our Welcome Team.
Get in touch with us to plan your visit
If you would like to come and visit the church beforehand you are more than welcome! Get in touch and we can arrange a time that suits you.
Next, we will contact you by email to say hello and help arrange anything necessary for your visit. |
